From Huffington Post write : She’s been called "the winner” of Mexico’s first presidential debate, after a media frenzy broke over her white, skin tight dress with a plunging neckline. But now Julia Orayen, the former playmate who officially served as an usher at the political event, is firing back. “The fact that a woman is physically attractive, does not mean that she doesn't have other qualities,” the Playmate said on Mexico's TV's "CadenaTres," a variety show. “It does not mean that you have to qualify her as something else,” she added. Wearing a rather conservative dress--pink with no plunging neck line-- Orayen spoke with "CadenaTres" about the controversy and Twitter explosion surrounding her appearance.
ibtimes, By Amanda Remling write : Mexico's first presidential debate gave viewers a lot more than they bargained for ... skin. Many weren't paying attention to the highly anticipated political debate, but rather the cleavage of curvaceous model Julia Orayen. Orayen, donning a tight gown with a very large keyhole cut out of the chest, was only on the stage for about 30 seconds Sunday, but stole the whole show, according to the media and Twitter. Julia Orayen was Playboy's playmate in the September 2008 edition of the magazine. While her Playboy photos are bound to be more revealing than the dress she wore, she still caught many eyes.
New York Daily News write : Who won Mexico's first presidential debate? According to the media and Twitter frenzy, at least, the victor wasn't any candidate but a curvaceous model in a tight gown who puzzled millions by appearing on stage for less than 30 seconds during the showdown. Julia Orayen has posed nude for Playboy and appeared barely dressed in other media, but she made her mark on Mexican minds Sunday night by carrying an urn filled with bits of paper determining the order that candidates would speak.
Telegraph.co.uk write : The model, who graced the cover of the September 2008 issue of Playboy Mexico, claimed she had not been upset by reactions to her appearance at Sunday's debate. Miss Orayen divided opinions across Mexico when she walked onto the stage to hand out bits of paper determining the order that candidates would speak wearing a revealing white dress. "I don't think you can generalise the comments from a country, everybody has their own opinion. There have been sexist comments and also very flattering comments," she told reporters between signing autographs for male fans in Mexico City. Since the debate, newspaper headlines, Twitter posts and talk on the street have focused on the Argentine model's 17-seconds on camera instead of the political content of the debate. The country's Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) later issued an apology to Mexican citizens and the candidates for the Miss Orayen's attire.
